For all BSA Scouts and others interested in "Operation On Target".

On Target is an annual event held on the 3rd Saturday in July (or September for Arizona) where Scouts and others flash mirrors between different mountain peaks, tall buildings, or other elevated structures. They use cellular phones, FRS/GMRS radios, and/or Amateur Radio (preferred) to confirm mirror flashes with other teams.

The event originated as part of the (now defunct) Varsity Scout program, and their official description is the chapter: "Operation On-Target", pp. 78-87 of the official BSA handbook, Varsity Team Program Features Volume II.
